With the highest carbon content of the cobalt based alloys, superior high temperature properties and a high proportion of carbides, HERO 190 is exceptionally abrasion resistant and excels in hot and abrasive down hole conditions. HERO 190 is the only choice for the hardfacing of bearing journals in tricone bits used in the oil and gas industry. (Because of the high carbon content, cooling stresses incurred during hardfacing must be minimized.)
