HERO 21 is formulated to withstand impact, making it a good choice forging and hot stamping die material. This alloy is also used on steam and fluid control valve bodies and seats due to its tenacious resistance to corrosion, galling and cavitation erosion. HERO 21 has very good work hardening properties and displays superior metal-to-metal sliding wear resistance. (This alloy is not recommended for severe hard particle abrasion.) Apply using the TIG deposit method.

- Apply using the TIG deposit method.
- Bonds well to all weldable steels and stainless
- Resistant to oxidizing & reducing gaseous atmospheres up to 2,100 oF (1,150 oC)
- Corrodes mainly by a pitting mechanism and not by general mass loss in seawater and chloride solutions. The typical electrode potential in sea water at room temperature is approximately -0.3 V (SCE).
